Thoughts, about stuff

Other people are is at it so I figured why not do the same. Here’s my first Photozoom collection:

To embed this I followed the instructions from Liveside. You’ll need to install Silverlight 2 beta 1 to view it. I asked Matt Augustine (who built Photozoom) if he was going to make it easier to embed Photozoom albums into blog entries and he said:
Your request makes sense and should be fairly straightforward for me to implement.  I’ll put it near the top of the todo list.
Good news!

  1. Thanks for the heads up on this new toy. I don’t quite see the benefit of it, but it is interesting. I also wonder about the wisdom of using it when it requires the user to install a new technology with which they are not familiar and possibly not trusting. On the other hand, this is sort of a chicken and egg question; if Silverlight isn’t used by designers and editors, then users won’t install it. If it’s integrated into IE8 (and I have no idea if it is), that will help expand the user base and therefore make it more tempting for designers to use on web pages.

  2. Brien,
It won’t be in IE8 I’m quite sure of that. The European Commission would sue them all the way to bankruptcy if they did that!!
