PhotoVu announces support for FrameIt

Hot on the heels of NAVTEQ’s announcement of their support for Windows Live FrameIt comes another FrameIt partnership, this time with PhotoVu.

“We are pleased to offer our customers this exciting new capability by enabling Windows Live FrameIt integration for their frames and signs,” said Robert Jordan, partner, PhotoVu. “As one of the first digital frame companies to use RSS for photos, we predicted even more compelling uses as the market matured. With FrameIt, Microsoft has delivered and taken this to the next level by integrating not only people’s photos but ‘images as information’.”

I suspect his will be the first of many hardware vendors that announce support for FrameIt. If you read the rest of the article you’ll see a pointer to the potential of what FrameIt can bring:

Using one consistent interface, customers can now combine photos, news, and information from a variety of sources and not have to worry about the ever changing complexity behind the scenes.

Photo frames aren’t just going to show us photos anymore, they’ll be showing us whatever we want them to show us. RSS rules!
